Three best friends on the journey of creating swimwear with better coverage

When we lived in Bali we used to spend hours on the beach surfing, hanging out with friends and having fun in and out of the ocean. The only “not so fun” part was getting our gentle skin burnt. For some of us it happened almost every time. We could care less though.

A few years and crow’s feet later we realized that the reckless time had its effect on us. Our first wrinkles arrived earlier than we expected.

Here in Australia each of us faces a dilemma: we love spending time on the beach with our friends and family but it may have a very negative effect on our health. And we’re not only talking about a few lines here and there.

Melanoma is the most common cancer affecting 15 to 39-year-old Australians. 

We wanted to take care of our health but didn’t want to sacrifice our passion for the beach and ocean.

So we came up with the idea of creating swimwear with better coverage that takes care of your skin while you’re having a good time on the beach. 

There was another reason why we fancied the idea of better coverage - two of us became mums and were not keen on wearing revealing bikinis anymore. Sounds familiar?

So powered by our personal experiences, our mission became clear - to provide an alternative to your regular bikini that covers better but makes you feel sexy and elegant nonetheless.

We created TANMENOT to help modern women just like us (read: job, partner, kids, hobbies, etc.) take care of themselves so they can take care of what’s important to them.
